Too Many Vitamins

So, I wasn't thinking and accidentally took 3 of my one-a-day multivitamins. How did I make the mixup? well, I'm still sick, so i've been taking around 9000mg of vitamin c a day (3000mg with each meal) to keep my immune system in overdrive - no danger because excess gets peed out. So, without thinking, I grabbed my multivitamins, and did the same. Immediately after I realized it wasn't the vitamin C.
I should be ok, correct? How much of the non-water soluble vitamins does it take to cause an issue with your health?

I'm definitely not an expert, but I am sure that you will be okay. Think about it - on an average day, most people (who are working out, etc) take a multi-vitamin and other supplements that may include calcium, vitamin C & D, in addition to the already vitamin-fortified foods, oh and possibly a protein shake. So on average, we are consuming a lot of vitamins and we are fine. If I were you, I would just hold off on taking the multi over the next few days so that your body has enough time to process everything and get it out of your system. I'd say that if you did this "oops" on a regular basis, then yes, you could be doing harm, but since you don't (and probably aren't feeling strange), then you are okay. You may also want to try doing some google searches to answer your main question.0

When I was little I used to LOVE the Flintstone chewable vitamins, so much so that I used to sneak them when my mom wasn't looking, she didn't really catch on until she realized a few 60 pill bottles ran out in under a month. Needless to say, I'm okay So I don't think you have anything to worry about.0

Like anything else, your body will process what it needs and get rid of what it doesn't.0

Any excess will be sent to your lovely kidneys to be released when the moment is right! It is very difficult to over do vitamins, no need for a visit to the hospital for some charcoal soup! As they say, this too shall pass :drinker: :drinker:0
