Since the 'baby' is 8, I can't call it baby weight anymore

Good Morning! I recently started my journey to lose about 100 pounds; weighed in at 230 yesterday. I'm 5'2, on a good day, and have some extra incentive this time around because my 13 year old daughter has been struggling with her body image and asked me to help her get healthy, too. I look forward to making some new friends and finding some extra accountability on MFP.

My kiddo is 7 so I understand. Im also looking to lose 70-100 pounds. Good luck on your journey of weight loss and helping your daughter. Both will be very rewarding.

I have said the same thing so many times! My youngest is 7, oldest 9 and can't get away with calling it baby weight any more! Both of mine are girls and are talking about their figures already. I have around 60lbs to lose, but being only 5 foot tall, it really shows. I hope we can all encourage each other on here :-)

I dont have children but I too want to lose around 70-100 pounds. I exercise daily and do my best to watch what I eat though at times its hard. I wondering if there is something that we can do to jumpstart the weightloss..

I couldn't agree more, my son is now 12 years old and I have to realize that the change starts with me. My son has also been on the chubby side but since joining sports in school, has been more fit. I would like to be the type of parent that can go out with my son and be active and practice his sports, that is my new motivation.
  • My daughter is 13 too and struggling. I never lost the baby weight from her! So I'm trying to help her and help me by being a role model for healthy eating and exercise. I sent you a friend request. :)
