What works for you may not work for me!

Praise God! I made my first UGW it wasn't easy. I didn't come on here to just brag about it but I came to help. This is not the first time I reached this weight. Last summer I got down to 119 but I gained it back. For some background info: last summer I started my weight loss journey on July 17,2011 I was 130 and by September 7,2011 I was down to 119.I gained it back because I wasn't patience, I had started to notice that I wasn't losing weight as quickly as I was before and I wasn't too happy with that. I soon did what a lot of people do; I started to make topics asking what I can do to start losing weight again and blah blah. A lot of people told me the same thing, "increase your calories goal", "change your workouts" and so I did just that and they told me to give it time I gave it time and I noticed that I was gaining a lot. I had stepped on the scale and it said 137 ( this was on 4-22-2012) I never recorded that weight because I was in shock and I guess it was water weight because that day I had like a gallon of water and then when I got on the scale the next morning it said 134.2 (4-23-2012). I still didn't like that number. I'm not going to tell you what I did to lose weight or what I ate. I don't want anyone to make the same mistake I made. I took advice from other people and I was listening to the things they said would help me to lose weight instead of sticking to the way that was working for me and being patient. Before I continue, the message that I'm trying to explain to everyone is that "what works for one person may not work for you". Increasing my calories goal and doing this and that didn't work for me. Why? Because everyone is different, are bodies function differently. Even though increasing the amount of calories your eat or doing the whole TDEE calculation thing
seemed to work for everyone it didn't work for me. When it comes to this weight loss journey your body won't respond to things like it does to another person’s body, For example, when you first sign up for this site they set your calorie goal to 1200, for some 1200 is just one meal and for others it is enough. My sister is on her weight loss journey also and she eats more calories than I do and she's honestly losing more weight than I am. Just remember what works for one person isn't always going to work for you, even if it seems to work for everyone in the world.

I know some people might take this the wrong way and go off.

But Now I'm resetting my ticker and aiming for my next goal weight!

I whole heartedly agree, I get told that I do not eat enough all the time, but if I eat the "recommended" calories per day and exercise, I actually GAIN weight. My body is built more like a man's and I gain muscle very quickly, have a lot of skeletal muscle and don't require as much caloric intake than the "average" woman. What works for me works for me, I am 80.4 lbs down with 2 weeks to go before my 1 year mark and I am pushing strong to get as close to 100 which is my ultimate goal to lose by that time. Good for you!! Keep going, nothing tastes better than thin feels!

My body seems to work the same way. I have to watch what types of exercise I do, like now I'm looking into Pilates,,something that will help to slim my muscles down and congrats on your weightloss!!!!

Way to go! I think the message here is that we are all different, and your body is your best teacher. Congratulations on making that goal!
