Grains or no-grains?

What is everyone's thoughts on grains? Is it good to cut them out completely somedays (as in days when workouts are easier or off days)?

I've decided I definitely want to add grains into my diet on days like today where I worked out really hard and need the carbs for energy. And definitely I will eat them nights before the mornings I will go for long runs.

But other than that has anyone has success by cutting out a portion of the carb intake? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It's not that complicated. Eat your grains, just stay with in your macro-nutrient goals.

If you are allowed say..250 carbs each day...eat whatever types of carbs you enjoy to eat to fit into your limit.
  • didn't think it was complicated and I'm aware I can eat what I want just stay within my guidelines, just wanted to know what everyone else has done or not done to get some feedback.

I never like the idea of cutting out an entire food group. I may limit how much I consume, but never deny it entirely.

If you have an intolerance, allergy, or medical related condition to any particular food item (some people have a grain intolerance) then I would absolutely limit or eliminate that food item from your diet.

If you do not have any of the above conditions, I would not seek to eliminate anything from your diet provided you enjoy eating that food item.
