Homemade peanut butter

Afternoon all. I used to love making my own peanut (and other nuts) butter but I've hit a snag. I have absolutely no idea how to work out the nutrition of it. I know I would need to weigh it before (as nuts) and after (as butter) but how to convert the weights etc? I don't use cups I measure things in grams.

Help?

In my vitamix (high power blender) but you can make it in a food processor too :)

    Its mega easy.

Chuck quantity of roasted nuts (shop bought or home roasted) in, blend until desired texture.

Yum yum yum. Plus it's all warm and gooey when it comes out :)

    Here's how I make mine:

    1 lb. dry roasted peanuts
    1 tsp. salt
    1.5 tsp. honey
1.5 tbsp. peanut or sesame oil

Add peanuts, salt & honey to a food processor & pulse until it's a thick paste, then drizzle the oil in with the processor running.

2,784 calories for about 1.5 cps, or about 24 tbsp. so I figure about about 120 calories per tbsp.

Edit: Oops... Looks like you wanted grams, sorry. If I plug this into a recipe nutrition calculator, it shows about 112 calories per 20g serving.

Create a recipe using the weights of all your ingredients individually prior to making peanut butter, divide by the number of servings. You can determine the number of servings once your have made the peanut butter.

For example: If your ingredients come out to 30,000 calories for everything, and you think a serving size is 100g, then it would be 300 calories per serving.

    Thanks, I'll try that

Thanks. I'll give it a bash at the weekend
