ThisRed lobster is one of THE easiest places to keep it low-cal. You'll still go over on sodium unfortunately but everything else you'll be GREAT on.
Order off the fresh fish menu or get the lobster with a vegetable side (steamed broccoli is one of my choices). Order the shrimp & scallops from the wood fire grill menu if you like. Pretty much keep away from their pastas or anything breaded/fried and you're golden.
Oh and DO NOT EAT ANY OF THE COMPLEMENTARY MUFFINS. Those things are PURE EVIL as far as calorie content goes.0 -
I'd blow off my diet for that feast.. I want red lobster so bad lol0
-
I used to work there, I could tell you a gross story about the biscuits it if helps, LOL. Really, stay away fromthe buscuits.
I want to know :O!0 -
Spend the money and get a LOBSTER.
A steamed 1 1/4lb lobster is a ridiculously low 230 calories.0 -
Lobster and Shrimp isn't that fatening but the stuff you dip it in is usually honey butter or just plain butter and these foods are high in cholesterol. Have a good time, then go home and exercise like crazy.:flowerforyou:0

Adding to my post from page 1......Just back from having lunch at Red Lobster. I did get the Quick Lunch shrimp skewers (they are 4 oz total), got a side salad (no croutons) added petite shrimp, and fork dipped into their dressing. Got the baked potato (no butter/no sour cream) and asked for plain broccoli. I brought my butter spray and some seasoning and was totally delicious (took home half potato and one full skewer of shrimp & a cheddar bay biscuit). Made my one biscuit last the entire meal, & drank a ton of water.
Spoke to the manager and I was given a 10 page xeroxed copy of Red Lobsters nutrition stats, the entire menu including drinks.
They were totally accommodating, even asked if I was sure I wanted the biscuits, lol. And the waitress said, I'm not even going to ask you if you want dessert. Now armed with their entire menu's nutritional sheets I can't wait to go back, lol
Of course I was dying for their 4 course feast......
Eager to read how your dinner ended up0 -

Don't eat the biscuits. They're bad news!
I went there a few months ago. I had fresh fish, veggies and I got a cup of chowder. It was very good and I stayed within my calories.0 -

Don't get anything fried! OMG. Got the calamari and fried veggie appetizer . . . it was 900 calories for 1/2. Shrimp tacos were delicious and fairly low cal. I think 150cals per taco. Got a garden salad with red wine vinaigrette. And the biscuits aren't so naughty if you just have one. You can find their nutrition info on the internet. Google them.0

All shellfish like shrimp, lobster and crab are all very healthy. They are extremely low in fat and high in protein. The unhealthy part is the the sauce you dip it into, like melted butter. Watch the dressing you get with your salad. As a matter of fact, you'd be wise to replace your salad with another lobster. Salads are mainly carb calories, but are so low in calorie that it won't do much for you either way in terms of making u fat or providing you with plenty of energy(carbs). Bread is good in moderation. If you eat too much bread(carbs), the extra carbs will be converted to and stored as fat so you should learn your carb threshold. I'm a shellfish fanatic.0

wood grilled lobster shrimp and scallops with brocolli as a side of course! you'll be too full to eat the rice pilaf0
-
Cheesy biscuits are the devil! I don't eat seafood, and I haven't cared for any of their chicken entrees that I've tried. I've literally gone there and ONLY eaten baskets o' biscuits!
Don't do that, lol..they are SO bad for you. Maybe they'll have a good salad or you'll like some of the chicken dishes, I'm just a chicken snob!!
Good luck!0 -

I probably would too..but I wanna know!0 -
I have learned to check online. Either here or the nutrition charts from the restaurants website and make my choices before I arrive. It may take some of the spontaneity out of it, but it keeps me happy with my choices.0

I love RL. If I went, I'd just enjoy my night. One night won't ruin my entire journey. Workouts do help ease the guilt though0

Most big restaurant chains have nutrition information available. I always try to look at it before I go to the restaurant.
Red Lobster's is: http://www.redlobster.com/health/nutrition/light_house.asp
When I went, I had a half order of the citrus tilapia - broiled, and broccoli. I did allow myself one of the biscuits.
I don't want to know the horror stories about those. :laugh:0
