Who has friends like these? I love them to death, but Lord do I hate having the same discussion over and over:
Want to go out to eat?
Sure, as long as its somewhere that has healthy alternatives on the menu?
....Why are you worried about that, you look amazing, just enjoy life.... or....well nevermind then, we'll just meet after dinner, Im not going to go somewhere like that.
UM! I LOOK THIS WAY BC OF HOW I EAT AND WORK OUT! AND DOESNT APPLEBEES SOUND LIKE AN OKAY COMPROMISE! (It has the under 500 calorie menu)
(mind you these are the same friends who weeks before or weeks after complain about their weight and ask for help....I try oh so hard to help them and workout with them and suggest foods....but they quit after a few days bc its too hard...which i understand, but dont bring ME down with you lol)

Haha I know exactly what you mean! Although my best friend is really supportive of my choice to get fit and healthier, she is also tiny. Naturally slender. And has the worlds fastest metabolism! She can eat anything and not put weight on!
She always wants to go for chocolate and waffles, or hot pies when we are out shopping, or catching up. It makes it hard because of course I LOVE those foods. And sitting there with my salad, or musli watching her devour choclate is soooo hard on my self restraint!0 -
Exactly exactly exactly!!!! And Applebee's is a great compromise. People complain, but refuse to do the work or admit that their actions and habits are the cause. Great will power!0

I can totally level with you on this one...they can make it feel like you're not being a good friend if you don't also partake in the fried or fatty foods they like to indulge in. Ridiculous!
What I've done in the past is eat before a dinner out, but still meet them at the restaurant just to hang and chat. If they care about you, it shouldn't matter what's on your plate - but rather the fun times and conversations you have. Sometimes, if I can research the menu, I'll indulge in a super small portion of what they're eating (i.e. one hot wing) so that way, I can compromise in terms of location choice for dining out, but don't wreck an entire day of healthful eating with a high-cal entree. But honestly, I think it just comes down to this: If they can't accept that eating healthy and loosing/maintaining your weight is an important part of your life, it's really their problem- not yours. Maybe since you are so openly mindful of what you eat, it makes them feel guilty for munching on treats....Sidenote: You look great- I hope your friends can understand importance of the sacrifices you're making food-wise, cuz the results are worth it! Good luck :-)0 -
My friends do this all the time. I'm good with a sandwich and a side of green beans but it seems everyone else either needs McDonald's or some Chinese buffet. I tell them I don't want to spend money on eating out when I just bought a ton of yummy things to eat at home.0
