INCH loss help..

Hey guys!
I am 18 year old boy.. and i am huge to be honest.. i am 5'8 tall..i hav large belly..flabby arms..it has been a week since i joined a gym.. and i have started weight training today only.. basically my only aim is to lose inches.. i am 95kgs but it doesnt matter.. so i just wanted to ask if weight training would really help to lose inches..or should i stick to only cardio for 60min a day.. i have already put a cut on my diet..
any help would be highly appreciated.. THANK YOU!

From reading around, you will benefit in terms of fat loss from resistance (weight) training using heavier weights for small numbers of repetitions. Interval training appears to be the most effective form of cardio, rather than low effort endurance cardio.0

Cardio is good for general fitness. You need to be able to run, ride a bike and live your life. For weight loss it's not really that effective. It helps you maintain a deficit but you can do that with cutting food.
Keep with the strength training. If you're wanting a more defined body lift an lift heavy. Are you following a program?0 -
I include strength training as well as cardio and calorie counting. And while I can't speak for everyone else...in school I was this skinny slip of a thing. I was 5'10 and weighed 9stone but I still had jiggly bits. When I lost weight last year I added strength training (in school it was ALL cardio) and I managed to get down to the same size, but with a lot less jiggle.
So long and short of it, it won't improve or hinder your inch loss, but what it will do is make the loss look better...0 -

Not always, you can loose inches but gain weight. Also you can loose inches without there being any change in your weight.
Program:
a plan or schedule of activities, procedures, etc., to be followed.
For example, P90x, C25K and so on0 -
Thank you amo_angelus for your comment.. i'll keep that in mind.. at the end of it all can i just ask a question.. what should i do to lose inches overall? If it is cardio and strength training both.. plz specify the time period for which i should do them.. and weight doesnt really matter to me..0

For me I try and do one day exercising, one day relaxing because it's easiest to stick to. But when I was loosing inches the fastest I exercised 6 days a week and rested on the 7th. I also did Cardio for at least an hour. Strength...it varies. I did it for as long as I could. At the moment I do 5 minutes of strength training (on average) because I can't really do much more and I do at least an hour of cardio, although these days my cardio seems to be more en par with sweeping the stairs than anything exercise specific :P (But sweeping the stairs sure works up a sweat). But honestly, it depends on you. Do as much as you can, as often as you can, but be sure to give yourself a rest too for your muscles to recover.0
