If I'm not Exericising...

How much is that going to impede my progress? I ask because I'm now bed ridden due to foot surgery so exercise kind of jumped out the window. I'd just like to know how much of a slow down I can expect in results if anyone knows.

I believe the program is set up so you lose a lb a week, regardless.0

You lose weight by having a calorie deficit. It's easier to hit that deficit when you're active, but you can do it with food reduction alone.0

Right, just set your activity at "sedentary" - this is an example of actually being sedentary!
Then track your calories carefully. You're probably going to be really hungry for a good week as your body tries to recover from the trauma of surgery.0 -
Please be careful to eat enough to recover. It can be pretty tricky. But you have to have enough protein to build back all the damaged stuff. You'll just have to play it by ear. Hang in there. See what you can do upper body so you don't lose too much. I have known two people, though, who gained extreme amounts of weight after an injury laid them up--and never chose to work back to health. My sister, conversely, broke her ankle after she had gained 40 lbs. She realized she wouldn't have fallen had she been her old, thinner self. She used it for motivation to regain her health (even though her weight loss was VERY slow until her ankle was healed, and then she had to get back into shape). It was a long road--but by far the better one.0
