Had been going at it alone...

So. I started off with about 80 lbs to peel off about a month ago, and got kicking on my own. I put MyFitnessPal on my phone and started tracking the what, when and where of my food habits so I could start making changes. I've been on my own since I started and it has been really hard making the changes I need to see myself improve.
I don't have a gym membership, or any at-home ways of getting in a good workout. I have a couple DVDs, but with most I need a mat or other props (I have hardwood floors) which I don't have and really can't afford.
My family has a really unhealthy relationship with food. My kids are constantly hand to mouth with chips, sugary snacks, and all sorts of junk. My husband is the macho "Meat & Taters" guy, so I'm really not getting any support at home, and temptation is always staring at me.
Summer is here, which means carnivals, festivals, and all of the food that now love to hate. (Especially funnel cakes!)

You control your hand and mouth. No other way to say it. This is mostly psychological. The world won't stop its ways because we want to be healthier.
That said, you could start by not buying the junk for your kids to eat at home. Leave the junk food for special occasions like festivals, fairs, etc.0 -
I know the feeling, I don't move out till September so I'm reliant on what is given to me! Its difficult but with the right dedication you can do it! Remember "obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated!" Zyzz (RIP)0

Well, you can use the boards to get support. Sign in every day and make comments on the boards, I've started using the boards more in the last week and I've found it to be very helpful. People can leave supportive and encouraging comments. Make a post asking for friends and I'm sure you'll get responses. Feel free to add me.
Buy more fruit and vegetables for your family. They'll have to get their sugar and junk food fixes elsewhere. Type 2 diabetes and weight issue are increasing for children You can make a positive inpact on your children by example and by stocking healthful foods.0 -
I've been trying to ease my husband out of shopping, but he still ends up picking up the same junk if I'm not right with him. I did go ahead and isolate all of the really bad junk food in a high up cupboard so the kids aren't just grabbing whatever they want whenever they choose.0
