Glad that you are making time for yourself. A great workout is swimming- easy on the joints and still burns a lot of calories. Also try doing things that are upper body related- cardio boxing. Or you could try a stationary bike, a little less pressure on your feet then other exercises since you aren't standing on them.

Ideas for diet would be try to eat things that aren't processed or have very little processing to them. Watch your sodium, and drink lots of water. You don't have to cut things out of your diet to make it work, and sometimes you just need to indulge in something (as long as it's in your calorie range). One last thing to think about when it comes to what/how you eat; can you sustain this type of eating for the rest of your life? Because this is a life change not just a diet. If you try to just do diets then you don't learn much about how your body works. Do research, read as much as you can in how to be healthy, and take it a day at a time.

Hope your foot feels better soon. Good luck.
  • Hi,

I have liver issues too and have injuries. I found a book called Callanetics for your back that has excersises for injured people like us.
there is also love your liver. I use these tools but I recomend you look st them and decide if they are for you.

I also recomend you dont worry too much, you've just started, any progress is good, if you can't excersise, then wait a little till you can and keep your calories in range and eating lots of green leafy veggies. I basically eat a big salad with basically every meal. my issue is keeping my proteins I dont always tolerate all proteins well. I have found soy to be helpful and also, seeds like flax seed, sesame, etc. I wish you great success, health and lots of luck : )

I recently hurt my foot to luckily it is not broken but the only cardio I can do right now is the stationary bike. Se depending on where the injury is it may work for you! Punching a speed bag if you can stand will give you a work out to!

Definitely the stationary bike is great for foot problems. Simming, rowing, maybe look in to water aerobics. Glad to see you're trying to take control of your health! As for time, you just have to make it work. I am NOT a morning person but make myself get up at 3:45 every morning to workout. If I don't, then I have 20 million excuses not to do the workouts.
  • Shadow boxing with dumbbells.

Do chair yoga with a ball for the time being or use some weights while sitting on a chair.

I have progressive liver disease with an unknown cause. The specialist would love to see me lose weight, as I would myself. Love to support each other on here, as my friends don't seem to understand the impact liver disease is on my life. Thanks :-)
