Database not that accurate?

Ok, so our diaries are filled with the MFP Database, but I've found that sometimes it's not really that accurate. I've found a huge difference for example when i looked up the info for 1 medium pear.
There's 2 with completely different tables, but referring to the same thing. How do I know which one to select? They show quite different results - the first one a 52 calorie /12g carb the other one,96 calories, 26 carb...??
Generic Raw Pear – Servings – 1 medium
Calories 52 Sodium 0 mg
Total Fat 0 g Potassium 0 mg
Saturated 0 g Total Carbs 12 g
Polyunsaturated 0 g Dietary Fiber 6 g
Monounsaturated 0 g Sugars 16 g
Trans 0 g Protein 1 g
Cholesterol 0 mg
Pears RAW – 1 pear, medium
Calories 96 Sodium 2 mg
Total Fat 0 g Potassium 198 mg
Saturated 0 g Total Carbs 26 g
Polyunsaturated 0 g Dietary Fiber 5 g
Monounsaturated 0 g Sugars 16 g
Trans 0 g Protein 1 g
Cholesterol 0 mg

Whenever possible, go with the one that does not have a * next to it.
The * means a member added it and it isn't really detailed.
The one without was entered by MFP and has multiple ways to measure it: by grams, by medium, which it defines as 2.5 pears per pound, or by cut slices. It's more accurate, especially if you have a scale and can weigh it in grams.0 -

That is why I never eat back all my exercise calories....nothing is 100% on here ...from food to exercise that you log on.0

Yep, definitely "buyers beware" on the database. As the other poster said, if it has an asterisk, that means it was entered by another member and may not be accurate (no asterisk means the entry was entered either by MFP or by you). I check just about everything against the package it came in, restaurant foods against their websites, and don't be afraid to edit entries you find that are wrong.
For more generic things, like those pears, if you're not sure, check the USDA's food database - http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/list - it's a great resource to keep bookmarked.0
