Hello!
Nice to meet everyone! My name is Sara, I'm here because I'm depressed and I need to make a change for the better in my life. I'm 5"5 , 155 pounds and 24 years old. I started Marvelon birth control about 6 months ago and ever since then things haven't been good. I gained 10 pounds in the past 6 months and have been miserable to be around because I just don't feel like myself. Clothes aren't fitting and i love my sweats. I'm a pretty healthy person food wise but I don't have the time to work out since my fiancé and I are building a house and planning a wedding so I just want to focus on counting calories for now. If anyone has any advice for me that would be great!

    Why are you sticking with birth control that obviously isn't working for you?

    I agree. Change the birth control method.

    Just talk to your doctor and try a different pill - some are more likely to cause weight gain than others - from memory I think Estrogen based pills, where as progesterone based ones aren't so bad for this?

    Hi Sara, please consider yourself lucky. You gained only 10 pounds and realized you had enough. So many of us here gained a 100+ pounds and are struggling to feel "normal" again. You're making changes and that's great! You'll be fine :)

    Thank you for all the support! My fiancé are okay with me going off birth control because we don't mind if we get pregnant. So thats a great thong also!
