Which Heart Rate Monitor Is Best For My Needs? (UK)

Hi

I swim and do aqua aerobics mostly but also use the treadmill in the gym and am starting to use the elliptical which causes my heart rate to shoot up pretty quickly so I'm thinking of getting a HRM to better monitor my safe zones but also to give me a more accurate calorie count for my swimming and aqua aerobics because MFP and FitBit give such different calculations for the same exercise.

If possible it would be good to have something that syncs with the Precor cardio machines at the gym so I don't have to keep looking at the watch. I'm not interested in lap times or anything performance related like that if it is going to bump up the price unnecessarily but I do need accurate heart rate and calories used information and it must be waterproof.

Can anyone recommend anything based on these requirements please?

the Polar FT40 can be used in the water and shows your zones/limits. I'm not sure about the syncing though.

No HRM's are waterproof... they are water resistant. When you wear them in the pool, you can't push the buttons on the watch under water...if you do, then it ruins the watch.

If you want just the basics, Polar FT4 will do. It's water resistant up to 30 meters and is around 60 dollars on amazon.

Thank you, I'll look at both of those :-)
