I REALLY need a HR monitor that I can also use to track distance for as cheap as possible. I've sen so many different options. So many different price ranges. Any GREAT under $100 models that anyone knows of? I'm feeling so completely lost in my search for one that is reasonably priced yet functional and accurate.

I have a polar HRM and I use the Nike+ shoe sensor with my ipod for distance. Just make sure you calibrate it correctly.0

Does that Nike+ thing work with an iPod classic?0 -
Do you have a smartphone? The Endomondo app is awesome!0

I don't know about any HR monitors that track distance. I use mine to monitor my uh.. heart rate. I try to stay in between 65-80% of my maximum heart rate for the duration of my jog. As for accurate distance recorders, I would try RunKeeper or MapMyFitness applications for iPhone. If you don't have an iPhone and have an android I'm sure there are similar apps for it. I personally use RunKeeper for iPhone and it works great!0

Forgot to mention.... I have a dumb phone. Not a smart phone. Apps won't work. It only makes and receives calls. :noway:0

I don't think it does because of its harddrive system.
It works with Nano and Touch.
Sorry.0 -

Drat. Of course it only works with items I don't own. :grumble: :explode:0 -
If you are looking to track your distance and do not have a smart phone, I suggest a FitBit. I love mine.

If you want an HRM, go with Polar as the others have suggested.0 -

I have a polar,itwas $70 I thinkand works great!0

I got my polar FT4 from amazon for 60 dollars. It has a chest strap and I totally love it. I have been using it for over a year now and it is still working great. Polar has great models. Which ever you end up with, just make sure that you have one with a chest strap.0

Polar FT7 is what I use..........it is great and you can find them for a reasonable price.0

I got mine from a one deal a day bargain basment website for $20. It counts calories, my previous one (Omron) did not. The machines at the gym pick up the signal. I wish I would have bought a case of them for that price. When it dies (it's almost dead) I'm getting a Polar.
Wanted to add...my funds are quite limited so I'd probably get a fitbit before I replaced my old HRM.0 -
I ♥ my Polar FT7!0

Do a search for Polar HRM on Amazon. That's where I've gotten both mine and my sisters and they we both around $70 each with shipping.0

I got some cheap little thing from Academy for like 50$. Works fine to me. I believe it was called Sportsline or something.0

No need for the app just map out your route on the computer when you get back.0 -

Yep! I have a Fitbit to keep track of my steps and distance and calorie burn and a heart rate monitor (Polar Ft4) to actually track accurate calories during exercise.0 -
I have a polar and I also use fitbit. I've noticed that the fitbit is pretty close to what my HRM says I burned during a particular workout. I love using both! But I'd get the fitbit first. It's great for tracking calories burned thru out the day and for tracking all your steps including stairs and sleeping.
Good Luck!

If you don't have a smart phone -- Try google maps. Plot your route and it will display the distance covered. You only need to do this
once, not every time you exercise.0 -
I bought mines new off ebay for about 45bucks. New Balance N4 for women, have had it over a year now, love it.chest strap/watch, simple to use0
