Looking to get some sort of chocolate protein powder simply to recover after heavy workouts and to sometimes act as a replacement meal... any input on which is the best to go for, considering I prefer to avoid too much sugar/artificial sweeteners ?

Kinetica is a good one, tastes considerably better than some other brands too, although I believe it's Irish so it may or may not be available in the UK. The PHD whey and Optimum Nutrition Whey is also very good and taste okay0

Reflex has one of, if not the best protein profiles. Phd does have more carbohydrates than Reflex, Reflex's instant whey is 80%!
Echo Supplements do great deals on Reflex and it tastes great too, they do choc mint that tastes like an Aero!0 -
Thanks, I will look into those.
Basically looking for something fairly high in protein and not too high in calories as I plan on mixing it in with greek yoghurt as well as blending with it.0 -
i just bought some from GNC...xtreme muscular performance... 83cals a scoop(plus cals for any milk/juice etc) i got the banana one(it was on sale £23 for a 2kg tub) and it tastes really really good, i actually enjoy drinking it
otherwise kinetica or maximuscle are both yummy ones0 -
I use Sci-MX good amount of protein and tastes nice, plus they do free next day delivery0

Thanks, will check that out as I have a GNC up the road from me.0 -
I use Sci-MX they used to be USN.
Their shake comes in chocolate and strawberry flavour. It's probably one of the few ones I enjoy and look forward too.
It has egg whites which makes the shake creamy without adding milk. I don't feel like I'm on diet then as it tastes like a naughty shake.
I must admit it's slightly powdery as with all shakes but a lot less powdery than many others that I've tried.
I find mixing it using a blender bottle with a grid inside (not sure what it's called) or the ones with a little metal spring works best.
Plus to add the powder to the water and not the other way around. :-)
Best of luck x0
