Jogging in the heat? Good or bad.

Options
I enjoy walking, hiking, jogging as a means of weight loss and enjoy it especially in the summer time. The heat obviously makes you sweat more and it feels cleansing (to me anyway) I take A LOT of precautions however, staying super hydrated (hydration blatter, bottled water.. the works) But I wonder do you burn more calories working out in the heat or does it just dehydrate you faster? Or does it matter at all? I try to workout in the shade but it's VERY humid in the south so sweating profusely outside is always a guarantee. But if this is unhealthy or pointless, I wonder if I should wait until the cool of the day.

Thanks for any answers!

I have heard and read that the heat is better if you did the right amount of water.

Sometimes I drink up to a liter of water depending on how long I am out there. Somewhere around an hour walking/jogging. By the time I am done I look like I jumped in a pool!
