Just try to remind yourself how disgusting they really are. Like they have lard in them or something. And all of that yucky sugar. Also, have you seen the commercial where you actually "wear" your food? They show a man with a donut around his waist, and a woman with cinnamon buns stuck to her butt? I always try to think about what I am eating stuck to my butt---makes me run away from it!

I know what you mean, though. The smell is amazing! Good luck!

lol I always force the bad foods on others because I know that if its gone I can't eat it! lol, so I encourage others to "have the last slice" (or bowl, or peice) just because that makes things easier for me :ohwell: I think that makes me a bad person, LOL

Its easy for me to pass that sort of stuff up at work... but if I go home to my parents house and I'm around my family it becomes significantly more difficult. to keep up my will power.

That is exactly what I do and the first thing I thought of when I read the post.
    Great minds think alike.

keep saying to your self (out loud if you can) "I AM stronger then the doughnut!"

If you don't crack up by about the 4th time, I'll bet the people around you will. It's a great way to keep your mind off the stupid doughnut!

OMGosh...people do this all the time and the people who know I'm dieting....ask me or tell me to take one...I don't. It's VERY hard to resist. Just get away from it if you can. I've gone as far as threatening to move the sweet item to another room rather than where I'm sitting. Most people won't mind if you do this. There is a girl that I work with, she can't diet. She eats a lot of sweets...she knows that most of us are on diets but asks us anyway. It feels good to be able to look at her and said, "No thank you. I'm eating healthy now. But thank you for thinking of me."

    :drinker:
  • Whenever I run into temptation I try to go look up the nutritional info to remind myself how bad it really is. Seeing the numbers makes me realize that it is not at all worth it. Makes me think of how hard I will have to work to burn it off.

Are they gone yet??? Just wondering?

BE STRONG!!! You don't need that freakin' doughnut!!! Just remember the commercial where the guy says he wants a doughnut for breakfast and someone takes a giant doughnut and puts is around his waist like and innertube! Concept being: YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!!! Don't get the "Dunlap" syndrome!

I completely understand this problem! Almost every slip I've had in my diet has been due to family gatherings. Why was I born to a family of such amazing cooks!!!
