Hi everyone.

I've recently picked up going to the gym. I am doing C25K on the treadmills, then I do about 15minutes of light weight lifting afterwards. Normally around 12-15reps on about 20-25kg at the moment.

I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn't move my arm, it had shooting pains when I tried to bend my elbow. I tried to massage it a little [which also really hurt] and eventually after a while I could move it again. I wasn't lying on it or in an awkward position at all.

This has been happening a lot recently, but not so painfully as last night. Is this an injury from the weight lifting? Or is the weight lifting just agitating a problem that was already there?

Idk. I'm going to see a doctor about it tonight because its making me miserable, but I just wanted to see if anyone has had anything similar or could shed some light.

Im having a simular issue with my right elbow. I have been training 2-3 times a week for the last 6 months, and then last week, when I was on vacation I started having pain in my elbow area, usually when I go to move it, like picking something up, or anything that requires any bending of it. Im sure that I have developed a tendonitis, I just havent figured out how to deal with it. I will probably be making an appt with my doc in the next few days. Tylenol & motril seem to help.

The doctor thinks its carpal tunnel. Which is just great. Haha. I thought that was an old people thing.
