I have found myself addicted to wasabi almonds and wasabi peas the last week or so. Grrrr. The nuts are so high in fat, surely eating them like 2x (okay, maybe 3x) a day cant be good. Not to mention the random times I pass the pantry and grab 2-3 of them.
I started eating them as snacks to fill me up and to curb my "crunch" craving. Without fried food and chips Ive been craving crunchy stuff. Figured nuts were the way to go, but geeze, Im all about overdoing it.
I need an nut-ervention

Back away slowly. Don't make any sudden moves. Just step away.
Hey, it could be worse! It could be potato chips or something. Almonds aren't all that bad. Now, if you eat a bag a day...0 -
Why don't you get a couple small plastic baggies and fill them with a portion of almonds that you'll allow yourself to have each day? (i.e. 2 snack baggies with 150 cal portions measured out). Then you can grab one of those bags whenever you feel a craving, but limit yourself to a set number of bags so you don't go over. It will help keep you aware of portion sizes without feeling deprived. But I feel ya.....almonds are freaking delicious. I've taken to using almond milk in my cereal....the unsweetened stuff is only 40 cals a cup :-)0

Woooowooooooooo. "Please step away from the almonds"
Actually, when I was behaving, and I needed that crunch factor I would hit the almonds or a roasted soybean blend. I figued it was better than chips, too. I'm not saying keep going but if your going to "binge" do it with something "good" until you can regain control. Other that, try natural almonds or a different flavor to break the wasabi kick0 -
eat some celery with it!0

I found too much of even a good thing is not so good.
Switch to regular raw almonds. There's a bunch of salt in the wasabi ones, right? At least the regular ones don't cause big cravings. They're better.0 -
Did you HAVE to remind me I have both items in my pantry?!!0

The baggie idea is good. I think I wont buy any next week though. Then try the baggie idea.
They are just so yummy. Crunchy and spicy. Maybe Ill buy some actual wasabi to put on my food too. Mmmmmm0
