I went to a dietician yesterday to just check my metabolism and make sure I was eating the right amount of protein, carbs, etc. to make sure that my body performed at optimal levels as I am currently training for four marathons in four months starting in December 2012.
It was very interesting and I recommend that if you have the chance to go yourself....she did set my calorie intake everyday regardless of if I exercised or not at 2,467. I run 12 miles a day, 5 days a weeks (between 50-60 miles weekly roughly) so I don't fully understand why I would eat the same calories on days I don't run at all as compared to days I run 12 miles ... but I will give it a shot, lol.

As you were able to give her quite an accurate account of your weekly exercise, it looks as though she has started off with a base daily calorie figure, obtained an average for your exercise by adding it all together and dividing by 7 and then adding this to that daily calorie allowance, thereby giving you a daily figure that would take in your exercise calories too.
She's calculated it over the week rather than daily.0 -
If you use equations like Katch McArdle or Harris Benedict, it incorporates your deficit over a weekly period so you eat the same amount of calories daily. Some days, you will have a large deficit, some days you may eat in a surplus. Over a week, it should equate to a deficit. My bigger question is, how tall and how much do you way. I am 5'11, 200 @ 12% body fat and I eat 2600-3000 to lose about 1/2-1 lb per week and I do Chalean extreme which is about a 35-55 minute workout.0

http://www.diffen.com/difference/Dietitian_vs_Nutritionist
A Dietitian is concerned with overall nutrition and health, not the specifics of weight loss, body composition, etc. They are not, primarily, interested in things like "sports nutrition", the need for carb loading, protein loading, and other things folks do when they are losing weight, competing in athletics, working out. They are going to be big picture professionals like physicians rather than focused on something specific like weight loss.0 -

Well I am 5'11" and weigh currently around 135-140 lbs. (it fluctuates depending on water weight) and she approximates I have about 13% body fat. I'm not currently trying to lose any weight but rather maintain my current weight as I don't think it would be healthy to lose anymore...0 -

Based on that, I would have you between 2500-2800 to maintain weight. So it's probably not too far off.0
