Honest question: Is anyone else just not fussed with food?

I know I'm not alone on this as I have met several people, both male and female in real life who are just not that fussed with food. I've been this way ever since I was a child- its not that I did'nt have lots of home-cooked healtjhy food because i did (my Mum is an excellent and health-concious cook) but my parents always had trouble getting me to eat anything and I was underweight till I went to uni- when I was too lazy to cook and just ate take-ways and junk. I am a good cook and have lost weight by getting off my lazy bum and cooking for myself........but I was light-heartedly wondering if anyone else would take a food replacement pill (like in all thosse futuristic films!) rather than sit down to a meal?

hmm I don't think so. I just enjoy food too much.0

I would if it would not hurt me long term. I love food. I have yet to master any kind of healthy cooking. I hate fish and I hate mushrooms. So many healthy recipes call for both. I struggle with lunch the most how much salad can you really eat? I am tired of cold cuts like turkey and low sodium ham.0

my DBF is like this. I can cook my butt off, cook excellent meals and he is like meh...no big deal. he is just not into food.
he's skinny too.
I'm the polar opposite.0 -
I hate fish too. I have a salad everyday for lunch with either thick sliced ham, hard boiled egg, cold strips of omlette, steak and sauteed onions, cubed pork loin. Sometimes I have soup (home made or tinned). You are right - you can't eta loads of salad. My freind enquired whether I was practising 'portion control' when she saw my daily salad bowl... erm no - thats quite a big bowl already (I think if it were any bigger I'd get bored half-way through)0

Assuming the mythical food pill was safe and nutrtionally complete, I'd use it sometimes. I love food and I love to cook. And I'd never want to give up eating or gatherings that involve food. But some days it would be great to just pop a pill and not to have to cook or be hungry.0

That ain't me - I love food and love to cook. But it is a major problem for many older people who don't have a good sense of smell and lose much of their sense of taste. It's also a problem with people who have allergies or other issues that keep their noses plugged up. If you can't smell and don't have a strong sense of taste, you lose your appetite. That may be you naturally. We're all different.
If you WANTED to learn to love food, you can train yourself to be more sensitive to it, just as you can train yourself to be more sensitive to music by learning an instrument or learn to be more sensitive to vision by learning to draw or paint. Any sensual/sensory experience.
You could become a healthier eater intellectually - as it sounds like you are now. Or you could learn to become a more sensual eater and learn to love healthy food. Whatever works for you.0 -
