What are YOUR macros?

I am wondering if my macros could use a tune up. I am usually over on fat and under on carbs and protein. Not sure if I should change what I'm eating or adjust my goals. I am looking to lose a few more pounds of stubborn fat and achieve a lean, muscle look (not necessarily build muscle). I was wondering what everyone else is set to? Also, please state your goals (e.g. rapid fat loss, build muscle, etc). Thanks for the input!

Mine is set to the MFP default. Most, but not all, days I'm over on fat and protein and under on carbs. But the amounts vary quite a bit. I don't plan my diet by macros. I just try to plan meals with a variety of healthy foods.

ETA: My goals are maintain weight, and increase physical fitness (muscle tone and endurance)

Mine is 40/40/20 for protein/carbs/fat. I find the default settings too low in protein, too high in carbs...

I try to keep my protein sources lean, like chicken breast, fresh fish etc.
I try to keep my carbs primarily slow & fibrous rather than fast & starchy...
and fats ... I try to take in the good fats and avoid the trans fats.

It was 40/30/30 (C/P/F), but I decided to change it to 35/30/35. I found myself going over on fat and to be honest, I would rather get more fat than carbs, so one it's not bad anyway and two it makes meal feel better knowing that I still stayed under my carbs and didn't go crazy on my fats, but still got a good amount.

Around 40P/30C/30F during regular days. On workout days it's 40/40/20.

It depends on what your fitness goals are.

My goals are losing fat lbs while keeping (or increasing) muscle lbs.
40P/35C/25F is my happy place.

I'm practically on the primal diet while cutting and do 43P/37F/20C (2050 calories) which is perfect for me since I can enjoy all my favorite food sources equally.

I'm on 40c/40p/20f (so I always end up eating like 33/33/33), and like you I always go over on fat and under on both carbs and protein. Does it make a big difference to go over in fat?

Mine are set to MFP's default. I try to keep my fat down to around 20g per day, but I usually end up at 30 or 40.
  • Mine's 50C/30P/20F, but I'm normally over on carbs and under on protein, so I'm trying to up my protein intake.

If that will be your total caloric intake (1043) for the day, 78g carbs and 39 grams of fat a day is no where near going overboard. Honestly, you're well below your BMR and, if you are exercising, you aren't eating enough calories and may end up with - or currently have - metabolic damage. Again, just my 2 cents.

It depends on the type of fat. If it's healthy fat it's unlikely to cause health problems, but gram for gram fat has more than twice the calories of carbs and protein so it's good to keep an eye on it. Your body needs fat, so you don't want to eat too low. Too much would be when you don't have enough calories left to get proper nutrition from other foods.
