Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering if there is anyone out there recovering from an accident? I was involved in a motorbike accident and broke my leg in various places and next week is the week that I'm due back to full health. Over the period of 8 weeks, I've gained a motherload of weight! [ :grumble: ] Any tips and tricks out there?
Cheers! :drinker:

I got took off my mountain bike by a car,
I have nerve damage to my left arm and hand, I needed an op to fix it and all in all that took about 3 years and then the recovery,
I had got down to 86 kilo's (My goal was 85) oh so close, I went up to 110.
Without all the fitness I was doing, I just exploded weight wise,
Now 3 years later, I am 90 - 92 kilos, have alot more muscle, but still aiming for 85.
For me, I could do nothing but walk after the op, I had no left side upper body strength.
My advice, do what you can, no matter what, it all adds up and well for your head you have too.
Slow and easy training.... what u can, when u can.0 -
Thanks!
People like you are inspirational and it's what keeps me going when I feel like giving up!

I was in a car accident 8 weeks ago. Had a broken pelvis, sacrum, and rib. I ended up losing a few pounds because in the beginning I was on too many painkillers to really have an appetite. Now my appetite is back but not my activity level! I'm working hard with physical therapy to get back to where I was before and using myfitnesspal to track my food and hopefully reach my goals. I hope you are healing well and feeling stronger each day! I just got rid of my walker today! Big step for me! :happy:0

I currently have a broken wrist from a fall. I haven't gained any weight back becuase I am still jogging/walking and doing pilates, squats, planks, and sit ups. The only problem I am having right now is pain and swelling after extended walking/jogging.
ETA: you can see my cast on my left wrist in my profile pic. :grumble:0 -
I broke my leg last July and I couldn't put weight on the leg for three months. I spent four months in physical therapy and was given the green light to go back to the gym last November. I gave up refined sugar and junk food when I realized that if I continued my bad eating habits I would gain 20 pounds on top of the 60 I had to lose. I have continued not eating sugar and junk food and have lost 44 pounds with 20 more to go. I had to build up my muscles and endurance by taking baby steps in the beginning stages. Now I burn a minimum of 600 calories on the Arc Trainer at the gym and I am in week 11 of the first round of P90X. Breaking my leg was the best thing that happened to me because I decided to make positive changes in all aspects of my life. If I can do it anybody can. I feel healthy, strong and fit and happy!0
