Protein Power Diet- has anyone tried it?

I've recently read "Protein Power" by Doctors MIchael and Mary Eades, and I am considering giving it a try. Just curious if anyone out there has tried this program. It greatly reduces your carb intake in the beginning, which is what worries me about it. I am an electrician at our local shipyard, and we are building the next air craft carrier, so my job is very physical. I do alot of lifting, pulling and pushing throughout the day, plus tons of walking. (I wore a pedometer for a week and averaged 11 miles a day) I'm afraid if I drop my carb intake too drastically, I will be miserable at work. The book claims that the first week or so you will feel fatigued easily, but that your body will adjust as your insulin levels/resistance reset, leaving you with newfound energy and sense of well-being. I do know that something has to change, because, even with all the daily physical labor, I am still thick in the middle. Any advice or admonition is welcome, I just want to get on the right track!

Just drop your carbs to about 150g and see how you go. No need to go very low. How many carbs do you eat at the moment?

My carbs are usually between 200 and 250 right now, which is still pretty low according to MFP's goals for me. The book actually would take someone my size down to 50 g a day.

I was a 20g low carber but yo-yo dieted like this for years and bingeing on carbs. I would not go so extreme - just try the 100-150g and see how you go.
