Gaining weight but feeling slimmer?

Yeah, you saw right. I've put on 3 pounds since I started eating right, but oddly enough I feel slimmer than I did before. Has this happened to anyone else? What do you think causes it? It's all in my head, right? Idk what to think honestly.
Consuming: 1500 cal daily now
Before: maybe 1000 on a good day.
It's still only been a week since the switch but, what do you guys think is going on?

The scale can be deceiving. Water weight fluctuates.0

You're adding muscle...you're weight will increase but you will have smaller measurements. It's a good thing0

take measurements using a tape measure. Way better way to measure progress0

Muscle weighs more than fat.
Also, I tend to feel heavier when I lose weight.. which may be an indication of water retention.
Try googling some stuff and see what you find out! :flowerforyou:0 -

And this. Definitely worth the $4 investment.0 -
She did not gain 3 lbs of muscle in a week.0

Probably just water weight. That usually happens when you make changes to your diet. It's pretty unlikely that you'd gain 3 lbs of fat in a week. The good thing about water weight is that it goes away pretty easily. Drink plenty of water and keep an eye on your sodium intake and you should be fine.0

I've experienced this. For me, the weight gain has not made be any bigger, and for the short term like you are talking about (1 week) I'm probably not smaller either. I think the feeling smaller comes from just feeling more energized, knowing I'm treating my body better and feeling healthier overall.0

I can't measure ATM, I just drank a liter of water and I don't think that would help me out.0

I lost half an in above the navel, and an inch below, I lost an inch. (:0

I've gained 4 pounds in the last month, and gone down a size in pants, so ya, i feel slimmer.0

You increased your calories from 1000 to 1500. Your weight gain is your bodies way of thanking you for feeding it again. This will continue for 3-6 weeks as you slowly repair the damage to your body from such a low calorie diet.
Just to clarify:
-MUSCLE DOES NOT WEIGH MORE THAN FAT.
-YOU CANNOT ADD MUSCLE MASS IN A CALORIE DEFICIT.0 -
That makes sense, I think...0
