fried foods

so I am trying to find the calories for french fries. I used great value seasoned fries and the calorie listing on the package (and everywhere else) says 150 cals for 22 pieces. I have a hard time believing that this is accurate for deep fried foods. I am guessing that the calories stated are for the fries if baked in the oven, not dipped in oil and fried. Any ideas on how to figure out the actual calories for foods when you deep fry them?

yeah i work at a restaurant and the nutrition facts on the package are the fries not cooked..i would suggest baking them. you can drizzle some olive oil on top with a little seasonings to make them crispy in the oven..thats what i do when i work anyways. im not sure how to calculate them being fried..but i would assume its going to add a LOT of calories and fat. hope thats helpful!0
