i have been at this for almost a month and STILL not once stinking lb lost and not even a full inch of my waist. UGH!!! i'm so discouraged, what am i doing wrong?!!

dont get discouraged. If your doing everything right, hang in there. It takes few weeks or few months for your body to adjust. The weight will come off. It took me 5 months of nothing until one week my weight just started falling off! Stay consistant with exercise and clean eating and you will see results! good luck!0

Looking at your diary, you aren't eating any fruits or veggies, and not enough water. May be too many processed foods. Try eating clean for a week - I bet you see a huge difference. Good Luck!0

I noticed you didn't track on the weekend, what happened? Do you eat vegetables? all I saw was some lettuce.0

You need to log weekends. If you (mentally) give yourself permission to take those 2 days off you can easily undo all the good work you do during the week.
Also try to up your veggies to help fill you up and watch your processed foods because they are very high in sodium and that can impede weight loss.0 -
As SelkieDiver just shared, watching your sodium can help. I would suggest adding that to your Food Diary on here. I didn't at first, then realized we have the option to, so I added it because I'm also trying to watch mine to lower high b/p. It will also help if you're eating processed foods, because you'll find that there is a ton of sodium in most of those type of foods and your body could be holding on to water. You can also track your sugars, and I think that's always a good idea too. Most importantly, remember the biggest battle most of us face is in our minds... try to remember you can do this, and all your work will pay off. Best of luck to you!0

My suggestion would be eat less processed food and more fruit and veg. I find a big salad actually makes me think I have eaten more than a ham sandwich for example, just plate it up - I did a visual experiment just for my self and put my normal work day ham sandwich next to the same calories worth of salad (topped with ham) - the salad fell off the plate there was so much of it and it took me alot longer to eat which made my body believe I had eaten more. Vegetables and fruit seem to fill me up for longer than processed instant foods.
I have reached my goal - 30lbs lost and have dropped 3 UK dress sizes - it did take time (started Aug 2011 and lost 28lbs by February) but it is staying off.0 -
I skimmed your diary and saw several times where you had fries with dinner. You could easily sub in brown rice to pad out your dinners a bit instead of the fries, they sell packets of brown rice that microwave in 90 seconds. Then top that brown rice with some sauteed onion and a drop or two of steak sauce.... tastes slightly naughty, but very delicious and good for you!0

Heaven knows I am not an expert but in addition to what was already mentioned, your eating habits seem inconsistent. One day you are on target, another you hardly eat anything. I think you are confusing your body....it doesn't know what is going on. Try to keep your numbers close to the same each day. Perhaps fewer carbs and more protein will help.0

I had the same problem. My Nutritionist suggested I try to only eat 120g of carbs or less and at least 100g of protein per day. Once I cut down on the carbs, I started losing. Not a lot of weight but I've lost 6.75 inches (2.5 from my hips and 1.75 from my waist.)0

a quick glance at your diary (just today) and I see that you are not drinking (or at least not logging) any water. Drink up woman! Also, try munching on veggies - very low calorie and if you are like me, satisfies the "need" to eat. Eat lean protein (chicken, turkey, etc) to stay feeling full longer.
Oh and I recently discovered sweet potatoes fries - so freakin good and easy to just pop in the oven. I skip some of the "bad" sides I make for my family like pasta and eat sweet potatoes fries instead.0 -
Besides what others have mentioned about not logging calories over the weekends, here are my suggestions:
1) I get the idea that you're a coffee drinker, and it might seem utterly ridiculous to you to cut out coffee. So try reducing the amount of sugar you add to as little as possible and switching from creamer to skim milk. Over time, I would suggest trying to switch from coffee to hot tea. You can still get some caffeine and there are plenty of delicious flavors out there to choose from.
2) It seems like most of the meats you are eating are beefy (i.e. taco salad, roast beef). Those meals seem to have little protein considering the serving size and number of calories. Eating lean meats is your best bet. Try and go for chicken and turkey, and definitely avoid excessively using sauce.
3) I noticed you also seem to eat a lot of soup, which may seem to be a healthy choice, but is actually quite the opposite. Canned soups are LOADED with sodium! I've cut them out of my diet completely.
4) I know it's hard to cut out sugary snacks and, but try and find healthier alternatives for popcorn, cookies, chips, cake, ice cream, etc.
5) I'm not sure exactly what times you are eating your meals, but definitely avoid eating late into the night (past 11, 12), especially when it comes to those sugary snacks that spike up your insulin levels and leave your body in fat storage mode right before you head to bed.
6) Replace whole or 2% milk with skim. Replace any white or multigrain foods with whole wheat and whole grain. Try and cut out cheeses, sauces, gravy, other toppings.

I totally agree. Most packaged and processed food contain an extraordinary amount of garbage that you don't need. Processed meats, heat and eat meals, or entrees. I used to eat deli meats, pre-made burgers, and the like, oh and fast food too.
Since I've joined MFP, I've lost 25 pounds in three months (I lost 5 prior) and all it took was eating clean and upping my water intake, and increasing my fiber. I don't ever want to return to the bad habits. I've noticed that not only has my weight dropped, but my skin looks a lot better (less dry) and my mood has changed dramatically. I was struggling with depression. I think it may have been the chemicals in the pre-made junk. Think fresh and organic when it comes to your meals. And don't think that this means just salads. It's chicken and fish, red meat at a minimum, lots of veggies, fresh or steamed, and drinking just water, or almond milk.
Eating clean has done wonders for me, physically, spiritually and emotionally.0 -

again Thanks everyone just one more question...are you all saying that if I don't log or basically take a break from eating "clean" and splurge over the weekend that i can "undo" all my hard work i put in during the week????? Wow! could this be why I haven't seen any results????0
