how to get good cholesterol up but keep bad down

Okay this is kinda weird, but my bad cholesterol is low low, but my good cholesterol is low also. So how do I raise my good cholesterol ?

I have no idea where to begin on this. Otherwise because the good cholesterol is so low the doc wants to put me on cholesterol meds, which I DO NOT want to do.

I am very serious with my question and would appreciate only serious responses. Thank you
