pounds not dropping like before :(

So its been about a week and half now and I have seen no change! I've been eating good and going extra hard at the gym so I can drop some lbs but nothing. I've actually gained a pound. I don't know what time doing wrong and it just makes me think all this hard work for nothing. It almost feels impossible to get to my goal weight. :frown:

Hiya! A few thoughts:
(1) Don't let 10 days be your standard ... it's way too short a time to judge, for all kinds of reasons. Also, I can't tell if you mean you started 10 days ago, or (judging from when you joined) if you mean that 10 days have passed without any further progress. If you just started, re-read my first sentence; if you've been going a while, then try doing a different exercise routine - not necessarily harder - and see if you feel any different or see any change.
(2) Do you have a way to track percent of body fat? Your workout may have added a pound of muscle, which will be much better for you in the long run; it helps burn calories, it fuels further exercise, and it looks nicer, too!0 -
There is one standard I've learned after 11 months of dieting: bodies are weird. Without seeing your diary I'm just guessing, but if you're working out harder than before it's likely that your muscles are retaining extra water to help them heal. Could also be fluctuations due to hormones or stress, which can cause you to retain water. Give your body some time to adjust and make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids to help flush out the excess.0

First, I will suggest taking a hard look at the items you are eating. Personally, I must watch my carbohydrates and sugar intake to really see a decrease in my weight. That may include foods that I found healthy like whole grain wheat and some fruits. Carbs are carbs and sugar is sugar. All of it must be eaten in moderation. Now by watching these items, I noticed that my intake is mainly protein and fats. I always thought negatively of fats, but it provides the best fuel for workouts... along with protein. Give it try!
Second, if you worked out a good combination of foods in your diet, you won't have to work that hard in the gym. I may have done 30 to 40 minutes of jogging and walking in combination with my diet, and the weight would decrease. I ultimately think it's about balance. You don't want to be on a super diet! AND you don't have to workout super hard! When you workout, don't waste your time, really give it your full effort in a shorter amount of time and you could burn far more than if you worked out for an hour or more.
And last, change your mindset. If you've been dropping weight, you've done a good job. Now your body needs something different or more challenging. Do a different routine or combination of moves. Get out of your comfort zone... even if you only do it once. BUT don't give up! Keep your mindset focused on YOUR goal. Do away with the "timeline" we tend to give ourselves, and do it. It's a day-by-day thing so take it one day at a time. Soon, you'll notice the changes.
