Push-ups?

Options
So I have noticed that most people do push ups one of two ways- elbows pointed out to the side or elbows tucked in and pointed towards their feet. My question is does it still work the same muscles or would doing them both ways be considered a different workout?

I think they do work different muscles. Insanity has you doing various different push ups, I can only think it must be to work different muscles...or what's the point lol!!

Elbows out targets chest more, where elbows in targets triceps more.

They work different muscle groups. Pointed out does your chest and bicep. Bringing them in (parallel to your torso) does your tricep and upper back. I'm surprised you don't know this. I hated doing push ups with my elbows in, so I always did it with them out.

Push-ups aren't part of our PFT, so we do not really focus on them. I know there is a difference in doing different style pull-ups so I figured it would be the same with push-ups so I figured I would ask.
