SUGAR help

Hello!

I am constantly going over my sugar for the day. Most of my sugar is FRUIT or Dairy based. I really don't add sugar to anything.
Does anyone know how fruit/ dairy sugar measures up and how and if I can compensate for it as not being added sugar?
Thanks in advance.

if you don't want to monitor sugar then just turn it off. Or set a custom goal to a higher number.

If you're trying to draw hypothetical boundaries between sugar molecules from one source vs the same sugar molecule from another source then you can count me out. They are the same.

I am asking if there is a difference in the grand scheme of weight loss/ health .... a difference between added sugars and fruit or dairy derived sugars? I ask because I often see that its ok to eat as much fruit as you want but don't use table sugar or soda, etc...
    thanks

The molecules are the same - fruits come with a bit of fibre and the odd vitamin. Many people have taken in an advertising or "motherhood & apple pie" message that fruit is wonderful and "healthy" but from the point of view of health or weight loss the glucose in your blood stream is the same whether it comes from white bread, fruit or table sugar. It's still glucose.

From a total intake for weight loss point of view there is not difference at all. From a healthy point of view there is SOME difference. However, I agree with Yarwell, it's just not something that needs to be measured. Measure overall carbs and you are good on sugar too.

PS: It is never Ok to eat as much fruit or any other single food as you want. It's all about working the total calories and the macro nutrients.

I ignore the sugar macros if it's come from fruit. I try and avoid processed sugar as a rule as much as possible to don't eat sweetened yoghurts.
