Need advice: Working out while feeling sickness coming on

I need some advice...

I JUST started a new tae Kwon do class last week (today will be my third day) and it's weigh in day. I also started a new bowling league last week and tomorrow will be my second day.

I feel "something" coming on, starting yesterday/last night...my chest is feeling a bit congested and I'm coughing just a teeny tiny wee bit ( maybe one small cough every 8 hours--that wee bit). Normally, i'd not even consider asking, I'd just take the time off, but I really want an need to go to my class tonight and my new league tomorrow. Last night, I started taking shots of Umcka, Emergen-C 1000 mg of vitamin C, Jarrow Formulas - Methyl B-12 1000, American Health - Chewable Acidophilus With Bifidus, as well as drinking a bunch of different organic healthy teas every couple of hours.

I *think* I may have picked this up from my Tae Kwon Do master, because I noticed him holding back coughing a wee bit Monday, but I'm totally not sure. I feel MUCH BETTER today than last night. Then there is ALWAYS the courtesy and respect and just plain kindness factor of not infecting others. I'm REALLY stuck, because I feel like I can't really miss these classes and league because I just started.

What do you think, your opinion will be so appreciated and thanks in advance for your reply!

    Well, you have to do what is right for YOU! If you feel you can do it...push through, my dear friend. Listen to your body, for it is our true compass of what we really need. I pray that you will be in health and that the Lord will touch you and give you wisdom.:flowerforyou:

    Such wise, beautiful and good advise...I TOTALLY feel like i can push thru--totally--100%. perhaps a bit of "guilt" factor is a contributing factor to my "worry/concern"

    I think what I'll do is let the guys know I'm feeling a little "sumfin-sumfin" TRYING to attack me, to give them a head-ups to stay away from me as much as possible. :sick: :blushing: :ohwell:

    I just saw this & it looks like your situation sorted itself out :) But, in the future for me - if i feel like I can do it, without contributing to feeling worse - I'll power through. I'm usually glad I did! But, if I feel completely run down and like I'll only get sicker / make other people around me sick, then I'd take the cue to rest. I have a very weird internal compass on this stuff though - basically, if I crave soup, it means I really need to rest. I know that sounds insane! How do you feel now that you did go to your class? Congratulations on having the strength to see through your commitment even though you felt conflicted!

    Wow, you are such a fabulous person, and I so appreciate you and your comments/advice sooooo much!!!!!

    I'm feeling much better today, and the yuck has moved from my chest, into my nose--but even then, it's-I'm feeling much better! I've been attacking this thing like the enemy to my body it is. I've been drinking more liquids, teas, emergen-c, Umcka and today I am and will be downing tons of soups, teas, organic veggie juices, and fruit juices like crazy. It's working, because I'm feeling so much better.
