Hi Everyone, so I'm pretty new at this MFP game, so far I like it! It holds me accountable for what I eat and forces me to exercise.

My question is, how often do most of you exercise? I was jogging 2 miles in the morning and 4 miles in the afternoon for the past 3 days, I basically have just been exhausted and have taken a break going out yesterday and this morning (this oppressive heat doesn't help either) Is it normal to take a break for two days? Or shoudl I just suck it up and get back to it?

ANy input would help!

Thanks!

your recovery time will depend on your level of fitness and your nutrition I workout 12 times a week but Ive been doing intense training for years so point is..my advice would be to listen to your body but always keep in mind the mind will stop long before the body does so yea in some ways just suck it up and drive on but dont neglect rest and recovery

I agree. Listen to your body. As you lose weight and gain muscle you will be able to do more. I started out very slow and I am adding more intensity and more time as I go. About 10 years ago before I got sick (cancer) I wasn't able to walk up the subway steps without resting. I started walking and added distance and intensity a bit at a time. Before I knew it, I was able to run 10 miles and still want more. After treatment I was barely able to walk from the sofat to the door and I thought I might be wheel chair bound. However, I refused to accept that. I am trying to rebuild my body to that level I had 10 years ago and I know I can.

Best of luck to you- Never give up.

    Hi

I am new to MFP also, I like it alot so far. I wouldnt quit i would try to do something everyday. I dont know how your schedule is but I am stuck to only 5am right now because of my kids baseball schedules. But i started in December and stopped in mid April why I dont know but lost about 20lbs but from the time i stopped till last week i gained it all back. But I was walking for an hour in the morning and doing at least 5 miles in the evening after 7:30pm enough ttime for the sun to go down and to take care of all of the kids needs. But as long as your body is in no physical pain I say go for it.. Now that i am back into it i feel great I realize this will be a lifetime struggle to make sure i make time for me but i think it is worth it ... good Luck
