Hi,

I've been on here for just over a week and I'm noticing that people only want help from others who are just like them. I can understand people who are a certain weight but other than that I don't get it. It can come across as snotty. Hey, I don't know everything and I want help from anyone and everyone. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

    Hi Ramgi!

I pretty much accept anyone's friend request....I don't care how old you are, how much you have to lose, where your from, etc.

But I can tell you on one occasion where I had to remove a friend because of that reason you spoke of....we had nothing in common. She talked about her size 0, I have 50lbs to lose; I'm 44, she's in her early 20's; I want to work out and get healthy; the only thing she posted about was clothes and her small size.

I wish her the best of luck...but in that situation, we had way different goals. For me, she was no help at all....and at the same time, I was no help to her, either.

Yep, I agree that it comes off snobby, but many of us are trying to surround ourselves with like minded people that will push us so that we can help one another.

Besides, I don't take offense to a young girl who posts "20 year olds" - they just don't get to know me. They are the ones missing out :-)

    Good luck to you :-)

I'm just looking for support and friendship. It doesn't matter to me if they are like me or not!! Heck, most of the time I don't want to be like me!!!

I will say that it would be nice to find someone closer to my age group that understands but if that doesn't happen, that's ok too. I'm friendly to anyone that is friendly to me!!

Anyone can add me and I'll do my best to support them!!

I agree, some people are extremely specific about who they want as friends on here! I have a modest list of friends, but they all try their best and quality really does matter more than quantity, just sayin

Thank you for your responses:-) I think even if we have different goals we can help each other. I would delete someone who always bragged about how small they are. Hello it's a weight loss site people. That's crazy. Mind if I add you all as friends?
