New and starting!

My name is stephanie and I am 220 lbs. I just started yesterday the couch to 5k plan. I started this because I use to try walking, and it did over a long period of time tone me down a bit, but I never really lost any real weight and it took a lot longer. I want to start trying to run to get more active than just a basic walker... I need help and support. It is hard for me to want to get off that couch and stop eating out, and my husband is just as much of a criminal as I am and drags me down when I try to exercise always wanting to eat out and always wanting me to stay with him. He says he wants to exercise with me and for me to wait for him to get home, but when he gets home we never leave the house. My plan is to exercise before he gets home so I know I get it done. I need help in support and encouragement though! Below is a quick blog about my first day to start exercising which I did yesterday.
Day 1, Week 1 – First day to start the exercise. I am out of shape…. It started out fine, but by about halfway through I started slowing down substantially, but manage to push myself to finish each remaining repetition. My legs are a little soar the next day, but not much. I really hope I can stick with this. I just created a schedule in my calendar and try and keep it up. The Texas heat in the start of summer is going to be a challenge and is already starting to. Our temperature is in the high 90’s and next week they show they will hit 100 degrees. One that starts it is roughly 2 months of over 100 degree heat. With starting to exercise I am trying not to eat out so much. I eat out most meals and my body shows it. I am not in this to lose a certain number of lbs (although losing weight is the ending goal), but more so to stop with the flash fad diets that don’t seem to work as much and just start exercising. With those fad diets my body never toned or slimmed much, just the weight from the scale came off. When I used to do something as simple as walking my body started looking nice and toned, but less weight came off. I want to be fit, and healthy and in the end, slimmer.

Hello,
I just wanted to say welcome and good luck!! I started at 205 and at one point I was 220 (before I joined MFP). It isn't easy for me at home because I have no support. My husband is thin and is basically no help!!
I'm always looking for friends and support from people who understand.
Feel free to add me!!

The first few weeks are definitly the hardest but soon it will get better. I had the same problem with my husband but now i either exercise before he gets home or after our daughter goes to bed he does something else while workout:) It took me a few months after i started this website for it to become a routine. But now ive logged in for 60 days straight and i love counting my calories every day and working out. I used to dread just going on a walk but now. I usually go on 1 -2 walks a day and do the 30 day shred and my elliptical:) I would really recommend doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred dvd if you want to boost your endurance and strength fast. Its hard but its worth it! I've lost 8lbs so far in about a month:) I'll add you! Good luck:)0
