Hi guys,
I went to the gym last night as usual for the 2nd time this week, had a bottle of lucozade light and 2 pints of water during/after the workout. I have eaten breakfast and lunch and done an hour or so housework but I came over all dizzy about an hour ago. I've since had another drink, two biscuits and a banana (in case it was dehydration or sugars)
I did eat dinner last night and im def not dehydrated. I dont feel ill otherwise. I'm still so dizzy I feel like the room is spinning, I can barely stand up. I'm lying on the rug in my lounge and I'm still spinning!!
Anyone have any ideas if this is excersise related? Anyone else get this?!
Thanks

Look at this and see if it might apply: http://www.livestrong.com/article/407426-mean-feel-dizzy-after-exercise/0

Sounds to me like it would be...
Could be dehydration, or not enough food....
Could be a side-effect of overtraining...
or there could be something medically wrong going on.... being dizzy like that is not normal. If it continues to happen and you don't think it's any of the above I would stop and go see a doctor.0 -
Inner ear problem???
I have one, Meineres Disease .. dizziness, throwing up, sweating ... then when the dizzy stops I'm extrememly cold & tired. I've been dealing w/it for 8yrs, there is no cure but meds to manage it. Its been a long time since i've had an attack (knock on wood!!)
My mom has positional vertigo.... just dizziness, comes & goes.
If it continues you might want to go see your doctor... an ENT possibly.0 -

Not the day after training, no.
You best get yourself along to your doctor asap, do you have a headache too? You may have a virus but not know, or low blood pressure or it could be too much fluid intake, too soon. You really need to get to your GP.
Out of interest, why did you drink such a large amount of water during that session - 2 pints is a massive amount - how long was the session?
Hope you feel better soon!0 -
For anybody thinking of advising the OP to drink even more think again. The symptoms she displays are water intoxication, this is why it is essential she gets to the doctors, now.0

I have kicked my training up a lot this past couple of weeks, I've extended my cardio of 40 mins by an additional 20 as I've added in a 8k run on top. And I've added alot more weight training.
I'm eating at maintenance. I was wondering if it maybe be something to do with BP as I generally have low blood pressure and feel dizzy upon standing.
I have a weekend of snowboarding coming up which burns a crap load of energy so may eat more for dinner tonight and see if it helps.
Thanks for your advice. GPs on strike in uk today so will go in the am if I'm still dizzy. It's weird, I feel super drunk without alcohol. Never happened in the past 16 months and I've pushed myself much harder before.
Thanks!

Def not this, I usually drink 4 pints a day, I'm a busy Mum and spend a lot of time running around and this is def fine for me.0 -
3 hours later it stopped! Think I just overdid it last night in the gym and didn't eat enough today. A couple of dextrose tablets sorted me out! Will keep an eye on it but I think I'm going to live!
Thanks to all for your helpful advice, if it does happen again I will
Be visiting the GP, think my iron could be low too.
Thanks all!
