Hey there. My name is Cathy..I am a military wife. I have a beautiful 19 month old daughter...and an amazing husband.
Here's my story...when I was in 8th grade..I was 175 and 5'0 I started dieting and by the beginning of grade10 I started maintaining my weight at 5'4 and 125... Things started looking up for me..then I met my husband summer before my senior year... Before I met him I was told so many times that I was fat and worth nothing...it was a hard thing to grow up on..after I graduated my weight sky rocketed or 205 3 years ago. And I got pregnant with my daughter and came out to be the same weight afterwards..I guess my self esteem is really bad.and my hubby does everything he can to make me feel pretty. But the thing is...everyone around me.....it's always about them..friends..family...but for once I'm making it about me.and what I want to achieve.i want a good life for myself. So I can jus get up and say..I'm going running..I have a ruptured disc in my back and nerve problems in my legs...so its been really hard to loose the weight.i want my little girl to look at me and say I wana be just like you mommy. And never let her have to go though a weight problem or self esteem issues. I tell her everyday that she is cute and beautiful. And she knows she is she goes around saying..iiiii cuuute.lol. anyways..lol.my husband has been the biggest support. I couldnt ask for a better one.
Well I'm 12 lbs down but still have a ways to go..
Anyone out there with similar issues? Lol.

I can't say that I have the same issues, but I was never a small child growing up nor was I a small teenager. I gained 50lbs with each of my 3 boys, so this was very hard for me to get over once I had my boys. I have people around me that don't understand that losing weight and getting healthy is not only physical, it is very emotional. I think for me, it is emotionally harder than physical. You are very lucky to have the support of your husband. Mine is the same way. He supports me in all ways that he can. You just need to stay strong and do those exercises that you can do. Just keep motivated b/c frankly, you can burn calories just by doing everyday housework. So, my advice to you is, don't listen to those around you who are negative, focus on yourself, think about the future, and enjoy the time with your little girl. She will love you no matter what!!0

Good for you! You deserve many kuddos for deciding to put your health as top priority. So many times us mom's tend to put everyone else first and put ourselves on the backburner. Eventually I came to realize that I can't really be the kind of friend, Mom, Wife that I want to be unless I'm healthy and happy with myself. I've always had a good support system in my life so I can't relate to the upbringing you had, but it sounds like you've got a great support in your husband which is awesome. My husband is my support too...nobody else around me really knows much about my journey.
You should be hugely proud of the success that you've had thus far and remember to never ever give up. When it does get tough and you feel like you can't do it anymore take a moment to remember why you started this journey in the first place and remind yourself how bad you want it. Picture yourself being that healthy happy person that you're trying to be and let that be your motivation.0
