how to prevent yourself from over-eating!

i have a few tips that i use. feel free to add on to the list! :)

- DRINK WATER!
- chew gum!
- brush your teeth at night after dinner, or when you've reached your calorie intake goal
- keep yourself distracted
- hide all your food, or make it hard to reach/open (e.g. i shut a container for this container of cookies so tight so i'd have to struggle to open it if i came back for it)
- eat meals AFTER you work out
- wear tight clothes
- give yourself the illusion that you're eating a lot (cutting fruits into smaller pieces)

that's all i can think of right nowwww! :)

    eat celery or carrots before each meal ... it takes more calories to burn then they actually have. youll feel a little fuller and hopefully eat less =)

    drink 2 glasses of water before each meal... if its ice cold water your body burns more calories to make it body temp

    I log my whole day in the morning, make sure my calories add up to my goal, and STICK TO IT! At first I was having bad evening cravings - I love salty snacks - so I would drink a big glass of water and brush my teeth right after dinner. It curbed my cravings and now I don't have evening cravings at all

    Celery and (especially) carrots do not constitute negative calories; they count towards your daily goal same as any other foods.
    eat celery or carrots before each meal ... it takes more calories to burn then they actually have. youll feel a little fuller and hopefully eat less =)

    Use a smaller plate so you trick your body into thinking you're eating more.
    Pay attention to plate presentation; if it looks pretty, we naturally enjoy it a bit more.

    Thanks for the tips!! I'm doing pretty goo about controlling my cravings but than I get one them days... But at least I'm still trying to get healthy.

    I didnt mean not to log in those calories... i log EVERYTHING ... I just meant they are low calorie help you fill up and burn calories at the same time

    OH I SO GET YOU I'M EXACTLY THE SAME I'M NOT REALLY HUINGRY BUT ONCE I EAT ITS HARD FOR ME TO STOP LIKE I CANT JUST HAVE A SQUARE OF CHOCOLATE I HAVE TO EAT THE WHOLE THING EVEN IF IT MAKES ME FEEL SICK??? I DONT GET MYSELF BUT THATS HOW I AM. :laugh:

    wearing tight clothes always works! when i am between sizes and don't want to spend on new clothes just yet, i will buy the next size smaller undies because loose clothes make me feel like i don't need to put in effort.

    But they don't "burn calories". The amount of effort your body uses to break it down is already in the calorie count. That's what a calorie is... A measure of how efficiently your body uses the food.
