Going on a Raw diet!!

Hi everyone!
My husband and I are starting a raw diet in a few days. He is currently doing the master cleanse and will be finished in about 5 days. As soon as he's done with that, we are going raw! I'm excited. We are currently "vegan." By that I mean we eat less than 10% of animal based protein. We do eat fish though. We just say vegan because it's the easiest way to explain it to people.
we are going to have our "cheat" days where we can eat "vegan" non-raw foods. And then every once in a great great while we will have 10% days where we can eat whatever we want. It's exciting. I can't wait to start!
Anyone else gone vegan or raw? If so why? And any questions feel free to ask. I'd love to answer what I can.

If man makes it, don't eat it.
That's a simple ideal I strive toward....0 -
We are aware of the costs but it actually is cheaper. we aren't eating any dairy nor juices or meats, so it evens out and/or is cheaper. Also, I went from being a definite "carnivore" to becoming vegan when I got married. This diet doesn't scare me one bit and my husband is a man of character, we will stick it through even if it is difficult. But I know it won't be. I'm excited to try it!0

Yeah we are going to do this! It'll be fun. I love feeling healthy being vegan. It's a huge difference. So, I'm excited to see how I feel being on a raw food diet.0

What exactly IS a Raw Food diet?0

It is where nothing is cooked so that you get the most nutrients out of them. So basically lots of salads, etc. We are going to use a dehydrator for a lot of the foods as well. As long as it isn't cooked above I believe 116 degrees, it hasn't killed it. We are going to be doing a raw diet 6 days a week and one day a week is a "cheat" day but we are still going to stay vegan on our cheat day.
Here are some awesome websites with great recipes. I'm excited to try them out.

Good lord I could never stay honest on that kind of a diet but I'm always amazed by people who can!
Good luck and enjoy!0 -
Good for you! I used to belong to a Raw Food Group in my area..and loved the meals many would prepare- such a treat! I've been vegetarian for about 20 yrs who occasionally eats fish...but I often recommend 'raw food days' to my clients for cleansing and/or weight loss jump start.
It's so easy on the body when doing this, needless to say. Also with summer here I'm sure you'll be hitting the farmers markets which cuts food bills in half! (plus growing a few goodies of your own when possible)
Best of luck to you..and hopefully you will add a few supplements to your diet to be sure you won't be missing anything!0
