New from NJ

Hi! I'm new to the site. I live in NJ and commute to NY during the week. I am looking to lose around 30 pounds but, mostly I would just like to be "in shape". I feel like I have worked hard to get back into shape (after a surgery and medication that caused weight gain) to no avail, so now I am joining this site in the hopes to figure out what I am doing right, wrong, and find some others who might have similar experiences or good advice.

    Hi! I'm in South Jersey and feel your pain. I have many pounds to go and have already lost 20. As soon as I started tracking my food and calories on here and could see what I was eating I started cutting out and down. Good luck, you can do it!!

    Thank you! I am originally from SF. I live in "the woods" of NJ now, Sparta, it's nice and waaaay less expensive than NYC or SF haha.

    I am a grad student (law) so I usually use the gym at school- it's free haha.

    Thank you!! I will be adding everyone who said it was OK as soon as I can, there is a time limit to the number you can add every 10 minutes. The time gap will give me some timeto actually build a profile :smile:

    I'm from North NJ, and used to work in the city too. Walking back and forth from W57th to Port Authority kind of jump started my weight loss.
