Scale has not moved in 8 weeks

I need advice!
For 8 weeks the scale has not moved. I mean no ounces up nor down. It does not matter if it is in the morning, after boot camp, after a 5k, after a meal, at bedtime. The scales has not changed. I stopped weighing myself for about 4 weeks and came back to find the same situation.
I work out with a dedicated trainer, have a nutritionist who reviews my MFP meals. We have changed protein, carb, fat ratios. We have modified workouts. I am training for my first sprint triathalon at the age of 50.
I went to the doctor and discovered a low Vit D level so taking 50k Vit D each week for three months.
I keep working out. I have stopped using MFP daily because it is getting frustrating. I used it pretty religiously for 5 months. I continue to eat carefully, healthfully based on input from the nutritionist and my trainer.
I have lost some inches but legs are getting a bit bigger due to the workout level. But really - NO fluctuations in 8 weeks - not an ounce! Arrgh!
ANY ideas?

errr.... try a different scale? seems weird that it has not moved AT ALL in so long. MIne has not moved in 3 weeks but I only get on twice a week in the am right when I wake up.0

Call guiness - I think you're doing something that nobody has ever done.
If you're losing inches and gaining muscle mass in your legs - why care if the scale doesn't move? The scale is a a piss poor way to judge your health or your progress (its just a tool to give you one small piece of information).0 -
I am sorry to hear that and I know it is very frustrating. The same thing is happening to me as well and wish I had some answers. Hopefully someone can give some great ideas for the both of us.0

But... how do you FEEL? How do your CLOTHES fit?
I found through my past experiences that I'm losing inches, gaining aerobic capacity and feel 100x better, even if I'm not losing weight. That scale is a just a number.
Hang in there. It's about your overall being, nut just a stupid number on the scale.0 -
You are not alone - I am in the same boat. I exercise regularly, eat good foods, and roughly stick to 1200 calories a day. Admittedly, I often go a little over but for the most part I am doing what I should and have only lost 3 pounds over a period of 6 weeks. However, I have lost almost an inch around my hips and waist - and that makes me feel a little better. You must be gaining muscle. Have you had your body composition tested? There's a device that you hold with both hands that analyzes your BMI (fat vs. Muscle). Ask your doctor. That will definitely give you an indication if you are making progress, even if the scale doesn't show it. Don't give up.....I'm not0

I feel better, my clothes are looser. But my trainer and nutritionist and doctor are dumbfounded. Even at the Doctor's office it was the SAME. I started laughing it was so ridiculous.
I was having a moment of losing motivation - now I am back thanks to the responses.
So a half mile swim, and 5k on top of my boot camp already completed await me today.
I needed a little support.
Thanks!0 -
Sounds like your trainer, nutritionist and doctor are idiots.
You can have MASSIVE re composition in your body without your weight every changing.0 -
i know you don't want to hear this but forget the scale. i know it is frustrating but realize that you are losing inches and gaining muscle! i'd rather lose inches and gain muscle and gain a few pounds knowing that i looked better than to be a "skinny fat" as they call it. i bet your body fat % is pretty good, just keep at it and focus on how your clothes feel and your body feels. if you feel healthy, energized, and better looking then no worries.0

I agree. The scales at my house are not moving much lately, but I am constantly surprised at how much healthier I feel, how much better things fit and those NSV's are becoming more important than the number. Sounds like you have a great regime going, so keep doing what you are doing. Getting strong and healthy takes hard work, dedication and mostly patience. Hang in there!0 -
Thans for the inspiration! And I love the motorcycle pix!0

Who cares? Toss the scale and focus on measurements and fitness level... if THOSE are improving, you're doing something right.0
