Insanity for beginners

after reading lots of posts, both for and against, I've decided to give Insanity a go, even though I know it's too hard for me to do straight through.
Should I a) pause DVD when I'm knackered, rest and restart it knowing it will take longer to complete the session but finish it all or b). Keep DVD running and stop and rest and then join back in when I'm ready?

Personally, I don't pause the video. During the week I was doing it, I just stopped and jumped back in when I was ready. You see poeple doing it who stop and jump in when they are ready, so that's what I did too. Trust me, you'll still get a killer workout. Good luck!!0

What i did when i was tired was just changed the move, so i was always moving, just not as intense. Im sure you will get used to it though, what week are you on?0

I also just leave it running and die a death on the floor for a few secs then look like a beached whale flapping whilst trying to finish it ! i am sure my endurance and strength will build as time goes on !! i am about to start my second week and it is a killer but i have lost an inch off my waist and hips already so good luck x0

On my 2nd run round on insanity - lost 3 stone last 3 month cycle, personally its the best out there for home DVD
If you get tired simply stop take some deep breaths and join back in, you'll find as you progress you do this less and less but as in all things it takes time to learn the moves, get used to them and your body adjust to what your doing. At the start you will take a break lots, dont give up on it just join back in.
When you get to the second set after the recovery week the moves get alot harder - some of them I cant simply do no matter how much I try, so I subsititue a move from the 1st begnining weeks in its place. As fitbyapril says just keep moving is key, heart rate up = burning calories.
Perhaps go extra mad on the next move that you find more comfortable to counter it...etc
Stick at it, Im starting over again and I seem to switch between this and p90x, although insanity is better in my eyes as requires no equipment.0
