New to MFP - advice on alcohol?

Hi, I'm new to MFP and started on Tuesday. I would like to lose 32lb (weight gained during pregnancies). I currently weigh 170. I'm exercising 4 time a week, 2 PT sessions (resistance and cardio), 1 Bodypump and 1 100% cardio session. I am on 1200 kcals a day and have a bit of a love affair with wine1

I am wondering if i build wine in to my daily calorie allowance - will I lose weight?

  • I do! Been loosing 2-3 pounds a week have. Glass or 2 a night I just count the calories and addition to my day!

    I have a drink every night after the kids go to bed.

    If you can lose without cutting it, then go for it. But on 1200 calories a day, I had to cut alcohol most of the time. That is just not enough spare calories to be eating enough to fuel and recover AND drink. And, honestly, my weight loss didn't start until I gave it up for a month.


    There is a saying "if you eat what you've always eaten, you will weight what you've always weighed". You might have to give it up. At least for a while.
