Do you count alcohol calories as part of your daily limit? Or just right it off as extra?

Yes, a calorie is a calorie and I count all of them. Plus, alcohol packs SO many calories usually that it needs to be counted for sure

Got to count it...part of the reward for exercising and being able to drink and keep my calories below my target it a strong motivator. Besides my body counts it of I put it in my mouth. The good, bad and ugly all become part of me whether I "count" or not.

I guess I meant do you plan it in to your day? I log it all. But say at the end of your day your at your goal, do you say, well no scotch tonight. or go hell I'm still having it.

If I have room for drinking at the end of my day.. then yes.. but if I'm already getting close to my limit or I know that I'll be hungry instead later.. I won't.
There's only been one time in the past 3 months where I've just been - "screw it!!" haha

YES.. Alcohol has crazy calories. If I didn't count them mfp would be a giant lie for me lol... It's kind of comparable to not counting high calorie soft drinks

I figure if I'm drinking I'm already cheating anyway... so I don't count it. I'm probably out for an evening of fun.

It depends, if its just a few casual drinks with friends I count them, and if I know I'm going out and getting pretty intoxciated I try to workout for extra at the gym and watch my intake of calories but I don't necessarily sit here and try to record every drink I have that night, then the next day I try to stay a little under my calorie intake just to make up for it, but if I just have a beer with dinner or a glass of wine when I get home from work I record it and count it

I do log alcohol. However, I only drink on the weekend, when I log the most activity. So I usually have the calories for a few :drinker: or more.

I drink like once a month now, and I don't generally do it anywhere near my computer, so while I may not log it, I'm very aware of it.

Every ounce, yes. I've severely cut back on alcohol consumption since returning to calorie tracking. That is a good thing because it is amazing how quickly those calories add up. I now see why I gained weight in the first place!

I log it, but also, if I know I am going to have a few drinks, I save some calories for my drinks. Love diet ocean spray cranberry pomegranate and vodka, low cal and delicious!

I have never been a huge drinker but I used to have 1 drink a handful of times a month and even less since I started trying to lose weight seriously. Now, it's even more rare for me to drink. So here's my general guide.

If I have a drink with dinner or in the evening because of a stressful day, then yes, I log it as part of my daily intake.

If I am drinking at an event such as a BBQ or some other type of gathering, than no. I usually take that day as my "cheat day" and have what I want.

I agree. I always log it, but I also plan on having it so I have the calories to cover it. I only drink Bud Select 55 beer now...no mixed drinks and rarely any other kind of beer. I can still have a beer with the 55, but it's not such a huge impact on my calorie count for the day, even if I have a few.

Dont usually plan what drinks I'm going to have at the beginning at my day.
If I'm at the end of the day & I'm about to go over, I say screw it and drink away!

Anything I consume with calories must be logged, including that end of the day cocktail.
The integrity of our diary is paramount to success.
    CHEERS!:drinker:
