protein question

hi just wondering if anyone can explain protein bars for me?? are they for mussle development or just a healthy snack, and how many is an ok amount to eat, I have been having a few latley as I was told there good while dieting

they are an ok occasional snack while dieting, but not every day. be careful which one you but, some are sugar loaded, some carb loaded, some fat loaded, some have the lot! protein is used for muscle growth, very important if you are lifting. carbs are used by the body for energy and what is not used is stored for later - possibly in the form of fat, depending on yr weight, exercise etc. protein is used for energy as well and gives you that full feeling for longer, so less need to snack. what protein you don't use is excreted in yr urine. so protein is beneficial during weight loss or muscle building. good luck with both0
