The reason for making this new thread is to make sure all of you know to contact me on my inbox, not this page. I don't want to miss anyone's question. You all deserve the help.0

Nice to meet you! I know there will be many people out to pick your brain on some helpful advice!0

The sad reality is that people don't really want the truth.
Most want to believe there is some magic potion to buy to lose fat and gain muscle.
People yearn for a new brand of fitness alchemy to crash diet their way to peak fitness in 6 weeks.
Honest trainers just keep punching and telling the truth while others cave in and join the party of scammers peddling junk science for easy money.
It used to bother me, but now? I work on myself and connect with other can-do people I know are on the road to reaching their goals not just in the gym but in life.
Like attracts like.
Good luck to you, but remember this conversation. It will haunt you.

The problem is a reality that wil bite you in the butt which tends to discourage or corrupt well intentioned guys starting out.
People don't really want the truth.
They want to believe there is some magic potion, wand or supplement they can buy to lose fat and gain muscle.
People yearn for some brand of fitness alchemy where they can balance their macro's or crash diet their way to peak fitness in 6 weeks.
Honest trainers just keep punching and telling the truth which is simple but hard.
Eat less, move more, lose fat, get healthy. It's simple but very hard. It takes work, discipline and more work.
Most people are too lazy. Most will fail.
And other fitness professionals just cave in and join the party of scammers selling junk science as truth along with whatever MLM pyramid or worthless supplements they're selling.
It's absurd either way.
It used to bother me, but now? I work on myself and connect with other can-do people I know are on the road to reaching their goals.

People need to hear the truth, but stay motivated and find what works for you, not people selling a product. They only want your money. Attach yourself to people who are out for the greater good.0 -

I prefer the truth. Don't lie and tell me what you think I want to hear. Tell me what I NEED to hear. That's why I won't hire a trainer. They tell you what they think you want to hear, not the truth. I will research, do this thru blood, sweat, and tears. This is a battle I will win.
I love those that give blunt bold honesty. More of that is needed in this world, and less sugar. Thats how we all got here to begin with.... just my twocents.0 -
And I wish you the best of luck.0

I can understand why Bobby feels the way he does. I'm not a trainer but people who have seen me transform my body always ask for advice and what I'm doing. When I tell them I workout and eat healthy, they either don't believe me or don't want to put in the effort. I've come across some who actually listened and loss weight but the majority....well, like Bobby said....wanted a quick fix.0

People will always have their opinions. It takes hard work and determination. I sweat and struggle every second in the gym until my muscles fail to get where I am. I am one of few that got my job as a trainer with no prior knowledge of training. They gave me a chance because I looked like I knew what I was talking about and now, it's the best thing that ever happened to me so far. People ask me if I'm on steroids and I say no, but thanks for flattering me. Some people don't need help, some people are too stubborn for help and others need it because they either lack or can't find the motivation to put them over the top. I'll leave it off with this: Everyone deserves help, whether they want it or not. That's why I'm here.0 -

Well said and I totally agree with you. I still offer whenever asked and it brings me joy when someone truly shows interest in their health! You're awesome and I admire you for what you are doing here!0 -

i'm just sad that people born in 1988 are that grown up already!
I'll probably msg you with my unending question that I can't seem to ever figure out what to do...
but i'll say that I know a lot of people don't want to be told to work hard, but that's certainly not everyone!0 -
Training may be difficult at the time. You may seat. You may bleed. You may cry. But, it's all worth it in the end.0
-
Born in the same year, sweet. Now, if you can help me make sure I don't keel over and die while trying to lose weight, that'd be great. Thanks!0

That's so awesome that you have the skills to write about fitness! I'm getting my Bachelors in Nutrition Science, but I'm hoping to cram in a couple English classes before I graduate next year.0

If you need help with any of your English stuff don't be afraid to hit me up; got my BA spring '11 in literature and am doing my MA and PhD in it. ^^0 -
People helping people. Love it.0
