Does it matter what I eat as long as I am within my calories?

Do I need to eat back all my exercise calories?

What type of exercise is best?

What is the best guide for finding my correct weight? (BMI, body fat, hip - waist ratio, dress size etc)

Is it better to have regular treats or a "cheat" meal/day?

How do I break out of a plateau?

Are these the kind of things you mean? Apologies if they are too common. I try and look for answers on here but it all gets a little heated!

What makes a person go into starvation mode?

How does a person know that they are in starvation mode?

How do you get out of starvation mode?

If you are trying to lose 2 pounds a weeks and you exercise daily, do you have to eat back your calories you burn with exercise?

These were a few that I had on my mind that I have questions about as well. I have a few friends that are not losing weight and wanted to know more about starvation mode.

Thanks for starting this blog and if I think of some more questions I will sent them your way.

What is better, eating 1200 'standard' calories, or going by your BMR?

Is it better to do one big workout or should we do doubles?

Are those shreds really worth it?

Is the hype over those CD fitness programs worth it?

I think the best way to gage calorie-needs is by only eating if you're hungry (and your body needs the calories) and not eating if you arne't hungry (INTUITIVE EATING...like when we were kids!).
1200 is pretty low. If you are sitll hungry on that (as in, PHYSICAL hunger, NOT appetite) you should increase your goal to 1300 or 1400.

Starvation mode is hard to reach if you do in fact have extra fat to burn. Your body will use thoat fat as calories, so you won't starve. My suggestion is to keep a journal and record your physical hunger level every time you eat. If oyu arne't PHYSICALLY hungry, don't eat! And, if you find yourself trying to ingore your physical hunger, then your calorie goal is probably too low.
