I like frozen fruit with milk with some boiled eggs on the side.
I try to keep it simple and avoid protein powders.
It's hard to trust that what is being sold really matches the label.0 -
you have no idea how much I would love boiled eggs on the side, but I found out a month ago that I am allergic to eggs. it was my favorite thing to eat, so good for you and delicious! I am still trying to get over it I do use a protein powder in the morning, but just 1/2 serving, makes me able to make it to work without my stomach eating itself. when I get to work I usually have cottage cheese or some nuts.0

I really like throwing in some frozen blueberries and strawberries with about 3/4 cup of milk and some vanilla fat free yogurt. I've tried the yoplait smoothie mixes from walmart and they aren't too bad either however I think they're kinda pricy for what you're getting.
I recently tried some chocolate peanut butter protein powder and it was a little intense (to say the least haha) so I've been using only two tablespoons of the protein powder, 3/4 cup of milk, three ice cubes, and about a half of a frozen banana and it turned out delish. I added a little splash of the davinci sugar free vanilla syrup too, I figured it couldn't hurt anything Sometimes I'll get instant coffee and add a teaspoon of that to my smoothies to give them a little kick.0 -
I have used:
Plain yogurt Greek if I have it or some are vanilla
skilm milk, what ever milk I have
cottage cheese
frozen fruit any you like
bananas ( they help sweeten it)
I have put oatmeal in a food processer & added it to the smoothie0 -

never thought to add instant coffee! what a great idea0 -
I make mine with frozen berries, 1/2 a bannana, FF yogurt, V8 splash lite, a few ice cubes and 1 equal . REALLY GOOD!0

My favorite is 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 banana 1/2 cup mixed berries and a scoop of protein powder..... yum : ) And healthy!0

1/2 cup greek yogurt
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup orange juice
a good handful of spinach
really good and you don't notice the spinach!0 -

1 cup almond milk, original or vanilla (usually original), unsweetened
1 cup frozen blueberries, or mixed berries...or 1/2 large mango...
1 banana (sometimes I skip this)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
a large handful of baby kale or spinach
Stevia to taste
I put the chia seeds into the almond milk and pop them into the fridge for 15 minutes, until the chias start to thicken the milk a bit
Then throw everything else in and blend
Sometimes I'll substitute a packet of instant oatmeal for the chia seeds - both thicken the shake, add a bit of fat and some protein0 -
1 Cup calcium deluxe skim milk
1 frozen banana
2 Tbs PB2 powder
1/4 scoop vanilla whey isolate powder
1/2 cup fresh Kale or spinach0 -
I eat one as well. I am allergic to soy, eggs and sensitive to milk so my smoothie recipe is:
1 cup of frozen berry or fruit of choice
1/2 cup of rice milk
2 Tlbs. of a rice protein powder (Vanilla, Chocolate or Berry)
I make and drink this before I shower, then after I am ready to head for work, I eat the following.
I then eat a side of turkey sausage 2 OZ. & Cranberry juice 1/2 cup.0 -
I cannot wait to try some of these.
Right now, my favorite one to make is:
1/2 banana
frozen strawberries
plain yogurt and some skim milk
a little applejuice to sweeten if I need it
a spoonful of chia seeds.
Gives me some good energy to start my day!0 -

this sounds like my exact smoothie, except I also add 1tsp of cocoa powder and flax seeds. the cocoa powder covers the taste of the protein powder pretty well0 -

Here's my standard
1 cup of vanilla soy milk
1 cup of frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries)
I think I am going to start adding in some spinach. From all I have heard and read you can add it and get the nutrients without the taste (which I actually don't mind but it's still more nutrients.)
I need to find chia seeds in town...I know they are here somewhere... I just need to find them.0 -
I used to do the typical milk, yogurt, whey protein powder, and fruit thing, but lately I've found that I don't tolerate the lactose well. here's me new recipe:
1.5 cups Unsweetened Almond milk
1 tbs Fresh Ground Almond Butter
1 tbs raw windflower honey
¾ cup frozen blueberries
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 serving Lifetime Life's Basics - Plant Protein Powder
It's actually pretty good. The almond butter many sound a bit weird, but I added it mostly to counteract the taste of the plant protein powder which is pretty strong. The blueberries likewise are there mostly for color, because I just couldn't overcome the funky color the strawberry and plant protein powder was leaving.
If you don't need it, you can save quite a few calories by leaving out the protein powder and/or the almond butter. I like having them, so I just have to either exercise more on days i drink this, or watch the other meals that day.0 -
I try to balance a smoothie with protein/healthy carb (i.e. veg/fruit)/fat.
So, I use a high quality minimally heat processed protein (either Premier Nutrition Labs Whey Protein or Omega Organic Pumpkin Protein). Then I pick a veggie like fresh or frozen spinach. I add mixed frozen berries for flavor. For the fat I use (just a little) either: Thai Kitchen canned coconut milk or an omega 3 oil or almond butter. Mix with a bit of water and sometimes ice.0 -
Cold green tea, or just water (you could use flavoured water maybe, I did originally)
Small chunk of kale
Large handful of spinach
5-10 strawberries (depending on size)
125g blueberries
1 banana
1 peeled kiwi fruit0 -
I make one I call Caramel Apple smoothie
1 Cup skim milk
1 Apple peeled, cut up and frozen
7 Almonds
1 Tbs Torani Sugar Free Caramel Syrup
Put the almonds in first and give them a whiz to crush them, then add the rest.
One thing that really made my smoothies better was the Torani Sugar free syrups, with 0 calories they are a great way to offset the tartness of the fruits. Even fresh, ripe fruit in a smoothie has a tartness about it. If you are using strawberries, use strawberry syrup and so on... Davinci makes these as well and are sweetened with Splenda, but are a bit more pricey.0
