gaining and losing same 2 pounds over and over

For the last 5-6 weeks I have gained and lost the same 2 pounds 3-4 times. I had gotten lax at tracking every meal but got back on track with that (the last week is honest and all included), I had decreased my exercise after a race and am back to 20+ miles a week, and will soon start increasing back to 30 miles a week. I had TOM twice during this time, which I blamed but... Anyway, have I just hit a plateau or am I forgetting something? Oh, I try to eat an average daily total calories per week based on my exercise that week rather than going up and down day by day. Makes planning much easier. I do my long run on Saturdays and find I usually eat a little more Thurs/Fri/Sat and less M/Tu/Wed. I'm not quite ready to stop losing, I am looking to lose about 10 more pounds. Any ideas, suggestions?

If you are following the goals here - dont worry about it! Youre not gaining fat. Your body sometimes goes into panic mode and tries to hold on to what it has. Just KEEP DOING IT! I was in EXACTLY YOUR SHOES the past month! I could not lose to save my life! Your body will eventually give up and shread those pounds and when it does, every time you step on the scale.. a pound lost here, 1/2 pound lost there. It just melts away! Judge how your clothes fit. Keep the course! Work out harder or more days. It will come off!
DONT GIVE UP!!! KEEP THE COURSE! Your in this for the long haul!0 -
How much protein are you eating?0

I'm getting lots of water, don't drink much else and always have a bottle nearby. As far as protein, I make a point to have a form of protein with every snack/meal, but don't track every gram. If I don't eat protein I get hungry, so keep a few options available. I guess I just keep going one day at a time.0

I'm having the same problem. I'm tracking my calories consistently and I'm always under, and I work out 6 days a week and I eat my exercise calories back. I drink plenty of water. I'm just stuck! It's so frustrating to be working so hard and not see any change. Thanks for the tips so far, and any others would be helpful for me as well.0

I'm with you and it's nice to know I'm not alone. I think one of the reasons is bc I've only got 7/8 lb to lose. My total goal was to lose 20 lbs. The first 11-13 came off fast but for the last 6 weeks-nothing!0

I'm with all of you - the only thing I decided to do different was throw in some high intensity cardio 2-3 days a week. I also to the calorie cycling (weekly total instead of daily total).0
